All Broncos
The Denton Public School Foundation, in association with OC Imageworks, LLC, has produced a documentary entitled “When We Were All Broncos”, honoring Denton and Denton High School's spirit of progress, unity, and hope, as seen thru the eyes of the DHS Class of 1973. Proceeds raised from this project will establish an endowment for a permanent scholarship fund for deserving seniors graduating from Denton High School.
Bill Carrico Scholarship Fund
Coach Bill Carrico was a much loved coach, educator and mentor who touched many lives during his time as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and athletic director with Denton ISD. A graduate of Denton High School, he earned All-American football honors at UNT and was inducted into the UNT Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993. He is respected around the community for his role in helping to integrate Denton High School in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Even after retiring from DISD in 1997, Coach continued to impact the community by serving with Grandparents in Public Schools, mentoring Borman elementary students and cheering on his Denton Bronco athletic teams. Bill’s legacy will forever be a part of DISD, with the naming of the Bill Carrico Athletic Complex at Braswell High School. To honor Coach Carrico’s legacy of dedication to education, his family has established the Bill Carrico Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors whose parents have taught in Denton ISD for 10 years or more.
